Job summary

Gothic Landscape in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Landscape Yard Assistant to support fleet management and facilities. You will handle inventory, vehicle transport, maintenance coordination, and basic admin tasks while upholding safety and efficiency.

The role requires punctuality and teamwork in a fast-paced outdoor setting. The ideal candidate can drive large vehicles, communicates in English and Spanish, and works well under changing deadlines.

Qualifications

• Punctual, reliable, and a team player.
• Able to drive company vehicles including large trucks and trailers.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred.
• Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs inventory control & order purchasing of tools, vehicles, equipment, chemical supplies, etc.
• Transport & delivery of company vehicles including trucks, trailers and equipment.
• Assists with scheduling repairs or preventative maintenance, ensuring necessary fleet numbers and start of operations.
• Maintains vehicle records: registrations, stickers/license plates, car insurance tracking, driver records, recalls.
• Ensures DOT compliance and fleet regulations.
• Assists with equipment rentals and managing shop inventory.
• Assists with cleaning, sweeping, trash pickup and organizing tools and equipment.
• Provides basic administrative support: filing, data entry, answering phones, safety binders, special projects.

As the Landscape Yard Assistant, you will perform a variety of maintenance and administrative duties to help manage the fleet and facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Landscape Yard Assistant will include, but not limited to:

• Performs inventory control & order purchasing of tools, vehicles, equipment, chemical supplies, etc
• Transport & delivery of company vehicles including trucks, trailers and equipment
• Assists with scheduling repairs or preventative maintenance, ensuring that the necessary numbers of fleet vehicles, assist with processing capital requests & ensures the vehicles start operations decal
• Maintains all vehicle records to include registration renewals, stickers/license plates, car insurance tracking & distribution, driver records, ensure registration handle & arrange the safety recall notices as necessary & assists with processing capital requests
• Handles all other tasks related to the fleet, including but not limited to making sure all drivers and vehicles adhere to DOT regulations
• Assist with equipment rentals and managing shop inventory
• Assist with cleaning, sweeping, trash pick up and organizing tools and equipment
• Provide basic administrative support such as: filing, sorting, data entry, answering phones, creating safety binders and assist with special projects as needed

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE that are necessary as a Landscape Yard Asst. will include, but not limited to:

• Must be punctual, reliable and a team player
• Must be able to drive company vehicles including large trucks and trailers
• Bilingual & fluent in Spanish & English is highly preferred
• Ability to multi-task, strong organizational & follow up skills, process-driven & able to meet changing deadlines
• Basic working knowledge in MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) & working in a fast paced environment

HOURLY RANGE:

• $24.00 - $26.00 per hour specific compensation may vary based on overall skills, experience and location
