Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Solon, OH is seeking a Landscape Trainee to join our outdoor team. Your office is outside, and you’ll learn to plant, trim, mow, weed, mulch and perform related landscaping tasks under supervision.

You'll gain hands-on experience diagnosing turf health, pests and plant conditions, while learning to operate and maintain landscape equipment safely. Growth opportunities and a focus on safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping preferred.
• Turf, weed, tree and shrub ID, pathology knowledge preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Landscape career development books on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A/B with Airbrake endorsement preferred.

Position Overview

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Valid driver’s license

• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
