The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Landscape Trainee in North Royalton, OH. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll perform duties to maintain residential, governmental, and business landscapes on site in a permanent full-time role.

You’ll learn plant care, mowing, and turf health, diagnose landscape issues, and communicate with management and clients to meet their needs. Emphasis on safety and growth within a leading horticultural company.

• Love of outdoors and interest in horticulture or landscaping.
• Possession or willingness to obtain required safety certifications and licenses.

Position Overview

Executes planned landscaping operations and maintains grounds and landscape of private, governmental or business residences by performing the following duties.

• Learn to diagnose insect, disease, and cultural/environmental turf and shrub conditions.
• Maintain open communication with management and clients to provide feedback on landscape needs.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate equipment

Qualifications

Skills We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID, Pathology, and knowledge of turf or tree physiology
• Ability to complete the Davey Landscape career development books upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
