Job summary

City of Pasadena is seeking a landscape maintenance worker to plant, prune, fertilize, and care for planted areas. You may plan and direct work under the Landscape Supervisor and assist with irrigation installation. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to lift and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in horticulture or landscape maintenance preferred.
• Ability to lift, kneel, bend and stand for extended periods.
• Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record.
• May require Texas herbicide license.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance: planting, pruning, fertilization and general care.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems with Landscape Supervisor.
• Operate mowing and trimming equipment and assist irrigation installation.
• Maintain equipment and assist with hardscape projects as needed.
• Review planting plans and monitor plant health and pest issues.
• Keep records of man-hours and routine maintenance.
• Apply weed control and growth regulation chemicals.
