Great Outdoors in Ann Arbor, MI is hiring a Landscape Operations Project Manager focusing on softscape with hardscape awareness. This year-round role oversees 3–4 field crews (6–8 people) for landscape installation projects and ensures safe, efficient execution to high landscape standards.

You will coordinate crews, materials, and vendor deliveries, while collaborating with sales and estimating to clarify design intent and changes. Strong leadership and reading plans are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of landscape supervision experience.
• Experience with hardscape and softscape installation.
• Knowledge of landscape plants, regional horticulture, and design principles.
• Ability to read and interpret design plans, blueprints, proposals, and scopes.
• Experience operating trucks with trailers, skid steers, plow trucks, and standard landscape machinery.
• Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving and team-building skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Position Overview

Great Outdoors is seeking an experienced Landscape Operations Project Manager specializing in softscape and understanding hardscape installation to join our Ann Arbor team. This year-round role oversees the daily production of approximately 3 to 4 landscape crews (totaling 6-8 team members) handling Landscape Installation Projects. You will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of landscape excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Crew Management: Direct daily operations, scheduling, and routing for 3-4 field crews.
• Logistics Coordination: Manage materials, equipment, and vendor deliveries for seamless workflows.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct on-site walkthroughs to verify project completion based on scope and quality standards.
• Client Relations: Serve as a point of contact for project updates, timelines, and expectations.
• Design & Collaboration: Partner with sales and estimating teams to clarify design intent, scopes, and change orders.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and proper equipment operation on all job sites.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor project hours, crew productivity, and overall job profitability.
• Team Development: Support hiring, training, onboarding, and morale-building for field crew members.
• Seasonal Transitioning: Lead execution for spring startup, summer peak, fall cleanup, and winter snow operations.
• Field Documentation: Track and log project progress using photos, detailed notes, and field reports.

Qualifications
