Job summary

Great Outdoors in Ann Arbor, MI is hiring a Landscape Operations Project Manager focusing on softscape with hardscape awareness. This year-round role oversees 3–4 field crews (6–8 people) for landscape installation projects and ensures safe, efficient execution to high landscape standards.

You will coordinate crews, materials, and vendor deliveries, while collaborating with sales and estimating to clarify design intent and changes. Strong leadership and reading plans are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of landscape supervision experience.
• Experience with hardscape and softscape installation.
• Knowledge of landscape plants, regional horticulture, and design principles.
• Ability to read and interpret design plans, blueprints, proposals, and scopes.
• Experience operating trucks with trailers, skid steers, plow trucks, and standard landscape machinery.
• Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving and team-building skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations and routing for 3-4 field crews.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and vendor deliveries.
• Conduct on-site walkthroughs to verify quality against scope.
• Serve as main contact for project updates, timelines, expectations.
• Collaborate with sales and estimating to clarify design intent and change orders.
• Enforce safety policies and proper equipment operation on sites.
• Monitor project hours, crew productivity, and profitability.
• Support hiring, training, onboarding and morale for field crew.
• Lead spring startup, summer peak, fall cleanup, and winter snow ops.
• Track progress with photos, notes, and field reports.
