Job summary

Jensen Landscape Services in Portola, CA seeks an experienced supervisor to train, retain, and direct crew activities on job sites. You will lead a small crew, ensure quality service for clients, and resolve conflicts to maintain morale.

The role requires 3–5 years of landscape experience, a valid driver license, and a pesticide license or plan to obtain within a year. English/Spanish communication is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of commercial landscape experience required.
• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed is strongly preferred.
• Pesticide license issued by the state where employed or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement job specifications for each site.
• Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure compliance.
• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, blowing, bed grooming, pruning, fertilizing and leaf pickup.
• Routinely monitor sites for quality and follow up with crews on performance improvements.
• Conduct and oversee execution of minor projects at crew level.
• Complete daily paperwork timely and accurately.
• Assess equipment operation issues and communicate repair needs to shop personnel.
• Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment.
• Assist Area Manager with training of crews for excellent performance and growth.
• Assess skill level and provide recommendations for development and promotion.
• Ensure adherence to company policies.
• Develop positive work relationships with Area Manager and team.
• Perform minor irrigation repairs and maintenance (clocks/controllers).
• Encourage safety and proper PPE usage; lead tailgate meetings.
• Perform in-field maintenance and repairs of equipment.
• Communicate budgeted vs actual hours; other duties as assigned.
