Job summary

The Budd Group is seeking a Landscape Crew Leader to supervise a crew of 5-10, oversee on-site operations, mentor teammates, and drive project quality. This role rewards hands-on leadership, safety focus, and clear opportunities for growth on commercial grounds.

You will perform mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and mulching with power equipment, enforce PPE standards, and coordinate daily reporting. Valid driver's license and English communication are required for coordinating the team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional landscape experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to operate commercial landscape tools and heavy equipment.
• Strong English communication to direct teams and report site updates.
• Basic math and practical problem-solving for daily reporting.

Responsibilities

• Crew Leadership & Training: Directly supervise, train, and mentor a crew of 5-10 landscape laborers.
• Field Operations & Quality: Perform mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and mulching; operate equipment; monitor plant health and seasonal tasks.
• Safety & Equipment Oversight: Ensure daily tool inventory; enforce PPE usage; relay safety standards and vehicle handling.

Hours: Mon- Fri 6:30am-3:30pm (some weekends as needed).

Key Responsibilities

• Crew Leadership & Training
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor a crew of 5-10 landscape laborers.
  • Manage site workflow and monitor team productivity and breaks.
• Field Operations & Quality
  • Perform hands‑on landscaping: mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and mulching.
  • Operate commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, and heavy equipment (tractors/bush hogs).
  • Identify plant/turf health issues (IPM) and assist with seasonal fertilizer application and winter snow removal.
• Safety & Equipment Oversight
  • Ensure daily tool inventory and inspect equipment for safe operation before work begins.
  • Enforce company safety standards and proper PPE usage across the crew.
  • Drive company vehicles safely to transport crew and materials; report mechanical issues promptly.

What We’re Looking For
