Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Knapp Valley Gardens is hiring a Landscape Construction Foreman.

Job Duties:

• Manage the execution and quality of construction projects, planning efficient labor requirements, equipment requirements and materials to ensure completion of job(s).
• Supervise the day to day work activities of a landscape crew of 2 to 4 employees.
• Operate various tools and equipment, including heavy equipment, chainsaws, cut-off saws, brick saws, compactors, laser levels, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
• Direct the construction of walkways, patios, driveways, etc.
• Use proper plant care techniques for planting of trees, shrubs and perennials.
• Read blueprints and specifications to delegate/complete work activities.
• Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis.
• Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
• Employee training.
• Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the landscape/construction industry.
• Capable of operating equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
• Plant knowledge and identification, and experience in plant care.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Must possess or obtain a valid commercial driver's license CDL Class A.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
• Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, and cold.
• Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work.
