Job summary

Oakridge Landscape, Inc. is seeking an Estimator in Valencia, CA to support our Estimating Department. This full-time, in-person role focuses on reviewing plans, preparing takeoffs, and coordinating with vendors to develop bid proposals.

Requirements include 2–5 years in construction, proficiency with reading drawings, and strong communication skills. Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff and MS Word/Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
2–5 years of experience in construction or related field.
Proficient at reading and understanding construction drawings.
Ability to gather, calculate and compile takeoff data for bids.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Responsibilities

Review plans, general conditions, schedules and scopes of work.
Prepare organized and complete takeoffs.
Request and obtain quotes from vendors and subs.
Enter takeoff data into estimating software.
Analyze alternatives for value engineering.
Draft proposal documents.

Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

The position of Estimator lies within our Estimating Department and plays a critical support role in the business development of our Landscape Construction business. Experience/Training

High School Diploma or GED
2-5 years of experience within the construction field or equivalent field experience
Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings
Ability to gather, calculate, and compile takeoff data for bid use
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Responsibilities

Review plans, general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, site logistics and other exhibits
Prepare organized and complete takeoffs
Request and obtain quotes for all scope from multiple vendors and sub-contractors
Enters takeoff information and quotes into estimating software
Analyze alternate means and methods to determine value engineering suggestions
Draft proposal documents
