Job summary

Oakridge Landscape, Inc. is seeking an experienced estimator to support bid preparation in Valencia, CA. You will review plans, assemble takeoffs, obtain quotes, and input data into estimating software.

We value strong communication, proficiency with Word/Excel, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced estimating environment. This full-time role reports to the Chief Estimator and pays hourly with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of experience in construction or related field.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings.
• Able to gather, calculate, and compile takeoff data for bid use.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, site logistics and other exhibits.
• Prepare organized and complete takeoffs.
• Request and obtain quotes from multiple vendors and sub-contractors.
• Enter takeoff information and quotes into estimating software.
• Analyze alternate means and methods to determine value engineering.
• Draft proposal documents.

Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Experience/Training

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of experience within the construction field or equivalent field experience
• Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings
• Ability to gather, calculate, and compile takeoff data for bid use
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Additional Skills

• Knowledge of plants and irrigation systems
• Proficient with On-Screen Takeoff software
• Construction management background or higher education on is a bonus
