Land Planning / Landscape Architecture Group Leader
Overview
A well-established multidisciplinary design and consulting organization is seeking an experienced Land Planning / Landscape Architecture leader to oversee and grow an existing studio. This individual will play a key role in guiding team development, strengthening client relationships, and expanding the group’s presence within the region.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who is motivated by community impact, creative leadership, and mentoring emerging professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for a landscape architecture and planning team
- Oversee staffing, supervision, project delivery, and long-term growth of the group
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, partners, and public stakeholders
- Support and lead business development efforts, including proposals and client engagement
- Guide projects from planning and concept development through implementation
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Present work to public agencies, boards, and community groups
- Mentor and develop staff while fostering a collaborative studio culture
Experience & Background
- Professional experience in land planning and/or landscape architecture, including leadership responsibility
- Background in site planning, master planning, and land development projects
- Familiarity with entitlement, permitting, and public review processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage clients, projects, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Financial and operational awareness related to project and group management
Qualifications
- Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field
- Professional licensure or certification preferred
- Significant industry experience with a diverse project portfolio
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Ability to balance technical oversight with strategic leadership
