Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking an Assistant Landfill Manager to oversee daily landfill operations, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team, monitor performance metrics, and coordinate with departments to drive efficiency.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, data analysis, and ensuring environmental safety practices across operations, including hazardous waste management when needed.

Qualifications

• Leadership and personnel management experience in a utility or industrial setting.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for safety and compliance.
• Proven problem-solving and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and manage labor and budgets for landfill operations.
• Familiarity with surveying, GPS, and landfill set grades.
• DOT Hazardous Materials Awareness and training with renewal every three years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee landfill operations and safety compliance in line with regulations.
• Develop and monitor operational goals, plans, and labor budgets.
• Schedule and direct employees; plan budgets and cost controls.
• Coordinate activities with departments and suppliers; review reports and act on findings.
• Maintain records, compliance files, and daily operational documentation.
• Support construction and long-term planning for landfill cells and expansion.
