Job summary

The City of Grand Prairie is seeking a Landfill/Solid Waste Facility Supervisor to oversee work projects, staff, and crews. You will manage field operations, coordinate contracted activities, and handle administrative duties including reporting and budgeting.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, plus 5 years of operations maintenance experience. EPA Freon Removal, MSW A License, and Texas CDL licenses are required with time-bound milestones.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of advanced training or study.
• Five years of operations maintenance experience; environmental monitoring at a solid waste facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff and work crews; assigns duties and evaluates performance.
• Coordinates contractors and field activities; monitors operations and ensures safety and compliance.
• Prepares and tracks budget reports; manages service requests and project documentation.
• Maintains and inspects equipment; responds to citizen inquiries and manages department-specific functions.
