Job summary

The City of Amarillo is seeking an Landfill Assistant Supervisor to oversee nightly operations, ensure proper disposal, equipment maintenance, and compliance with city and state regulations. You will supervise crews, track attendance, and produce routine reports to support site operations.

Qualified candidates have at least a high school diploma and two years of supervisory or data-entry experience, with the ability to obtain a waste screening class and a Solid Waste License per TCEQ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of personnel supervision and/or computer operation/data entry, bookkeeping, or accounting experience.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a waste screening class and applicable Solid Waste License within the guidelines of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervises personnel, manages schedules and assignments for solid waste disposal activities.
• Assists Solid Waste Supervisor with daily tasks, reports, equipment maintenance, and weather planning.
• Compiles daily/weekly/monthly reports as required by city and regulatory bodies.
• Oversees crews to ensure proper operation, safety, and adherence to disposal practices.
• Investigates complaints and enforces solid waste regulations.
