Job summary

Calvert County Government is seeking a facilities maintenance worker to perform a wide range of upkeep tasks at Solid Waste facilities. Responsibilities include carpentry, equipment maintenance, and operating tractors and other vehicles, with work performed under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, two years of maintenance experience, and a valid Class B CDL with a Medical Examiner’s Certificate to be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

Completion of the tenth grade.
Two years of general building, labor, and equipment maintenance experience.
Valid Class B commercial driver’s license and a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate must be obtained within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

Perform general carpentry and building maintenance on structures and grounds.
Operate and maintain landfill equipment and trucks/tractors; assist with fuel and waste site tasks.
Maintain cleanliness of facilities, perform equipment checks, and follow safety protocols.
