Job summary

City of Denton is seeking a landfill attendant to help keep the site clean, manage litter, and assist in lawn care around the facility. You will work under supervision and ensure compliance with local regulations while supporting vehicle spotting and general maintenance tasks.

The role requires physical stamina for lifting up to 60 pounds, operating light equipment such as mowers, and performing routine checks on equipment and logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year field services/landscape work preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with litter collection and landscape/equipment maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep landfill clean and litter-free under supervisor direction.
• Assist in lawn maintenance and vehicle spotting as needed.
• Collect windblown litter daily; operate light/medium equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and pre/post operation checks on tools.
