Job summary

City of Garland is seeking a lead grounds attendant to direct the landfill grounds crew and temporary workers. Responsibilities include coordinating daily assignments, collecting litter, and maintaining public areas around the Hinton Landfill.

The role requires operating landscaping equipment and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, landfill experience, and familiarity with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working in a landfill setting preferred.
• Familiarity with landfill compliance regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Grounds Attendant and Temp crew at the landfill.
• Provide daily assignments and adjust tasks as needed.
• Collect litter and debris from right of ways, roadsides, and open areas.
• Operate mowers, trimmers, power washers and related equipment safely.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Assist with traffic control and truck spotter duties as needed.
