Job summary

City of Denton is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to assist with the general upkeep of parks and grounds, including landscape installation and cemetery maintenance. This role supports park facilities and public buildings to ensure a visually appealing and safe environment.

Responsibilities include operating light-to-medium equipment, performing minor repairs, inspecting for safety, and assisting with events and daily tasks. Outdoor work in all weather and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with turf, shrubs, and trees common to North Central Texas.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate light-to-medium duty equipment to meet park maintenance standards.
• Perform minor construction and park facility repairs.
• Inspect equipment and facilities for safety and report issues.
• Assist crew with day-to-day tasks and events.
• Respond to after-hour callouts for issues (flooding, storms, ice).
• Perform custodial duties for restrooms, pavilions, and other areas.
• Support other departments as needed.
