Job summary

R. J. Fuselier & Associates, L.L.C. in Lafayette, LA is seeking a dependable Land Survey Rodman to join our crew for boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction, flood-elevation and other surveys. This is an entry-level field position with training provided and opportunities for advancement.

You will assist the survey crew with field measurements, equipment setup, monument searches, stakes, and other daily field operations while learning proper procedures in a safe, team environment.

Qualifications

• No previous land surveying experience required; construction, utility, outdoor, or related field experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions is essential for field operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Party Chief and Instrument Man with daily surveying operations
• Carry and properly position survey rods, prisms, tripods, stakes, and other field equipment
• Assist with setting survey stakes, hubs, nails, monuments, and other field markings
• Search for and help uncover property corners, survey monuments, and other evidence
• Clear brush and establish lines of sight when necessary
• Measure distances using tapes and other basic field tools
