Job summary

Fenstermaker has a full-time opportunity for an entry-level Survey Rodman in Lafayette, LA. The Rodman will support the Party Chief in daily data collection using designated equipment and will champion the company's core values while maintaining engagement and satisfaction of clients and teammates.

Responsibilities include loading equipment, setting up field gear, taking precise measurements with prism poles and levels, and assisting with marking property lines and utilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Ability to travel - may require overnight stays to support project needs
• Ability to work in the outside elements of the field
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Load and unload survey equipment, tools, and supplies to and from job sites.
• Carry, set up, and position tripods, prisms, rods, stakes, and other field equipment as directed by the Party Chief or Instrumentman.
• Hold and operate prism poles, leveling rods, and other survey accessories to obtain accurate measurements.
• Place stakes, flags, and markers for property lines, utilities, and construction layouts.
• Assist with clearing brush, debris, and obstacles from survey lines.
• Perform digging, probing, or other manual tasks required to locate monuments, pipelines, or utilities.
• Maintain and organize field supplies including stakes, nails, flagging, paint, and lath.
• Ensure proper care and handling of equipment; keep tools clean and in good working order.
• Follow safety standards and procedures on job sites, including the use of PPE and awareness of site hazards.
• Support survey crew operations and perform additional duties as assigned by the Party Chief.
