Job summary

Sonic Automotive, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Line Automotive Technician for Land Rover Birmingham in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on complex engine, transmission, and drivetrain repairs, using factory diagnostic tools and following OEM procedures to ensure high-quality workmanship.

We welcome candidates with 3–5+ years of automotive repair experience and a strong heavy-mechanics background; ASE or equivalent training is preferred. Excellent team environment and career growth await.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of automotive repair experience preferred.
• Strong background in heavy mechanical repairs.
• ASE or factory training completed.

Responsibilities

• Remove and repair complex mechanical concerns on engines, transmissions and drivetrains.
• Perform major engine repairs including timing components and cylinder heads.
• Repair and replace transmissions, transfer cases, differentials and driveline parts.
• Use factory diagnostics to identify and fix vehicle issues.
• Work with service staff to ensure a positive customer experience.
