Company Overview
The U.S. Army has a requirement for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) System Maintenance Support for the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) at Fort Irwin, CA. The maintenance of the LMR system is highly important and urgent due to Fort Irwin's location, tactical mission, families & civilian workforce. Fort Irwin (located in the Mojave Desert) is the size of the state of Rhode Island and isolated from fully operating hospitals and
communities. The LMR system is the link between deploying first responders and the patients receiving major medical care, assisting in saving military and civilian lives. Without a good working LMR it can be catastrophic. By Light is looking for a LMR Technician that can work on their own and support this mission.
Responsibilities
Determine infrastructure problems, replace components, ship malfunctioning equipment for repair, perform post installation test.
- Provide advanced replacement of equipment deemed inoperative or in need of repair by providing overnight or next business day replacement of inoperative Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
- Provide maintenance coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days a week (including holidays) during the period of performance and during subsequent maintenance years.
- In the event of a mission critical major system failure and/or major site failure, respond within four (4) hours after notification.
- Respond to non-emergency issues within 24 hours.
- Replace and repair fixed infrastructure equipment at the site during the service/maintenance period.
- Perform semi & annual system preventive maintenance and analysis to keep the system working at an optimum level.
- Provide operational testing and alignment, as applicable, on infrastructure and fixed network equipment to ensure the equipment meets original manufacturer's specifications.
- Remove any oil, dust, and/or foreign substances from the equipment, clean filters, if applicable, perform corrosion control, and measure, record, align, and make all applicable equipment parameter adjustments, to include frequency modulation in accordance with the best commercial practices.
- Perform operator level preventative maintenance on uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), generators, and air-conditioned units.
- Coordinate with vendors for semi-annual maintenance and replacement of defective or needed repairs for UPS, generators, and air-conditioners. .
- Coordinate with vendors for filling propane tanks and generators.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- Education/Experience: AA with 5+ years' experience Harris or Motorola radio systems.
- Must proficient and skilled with Motorola Astro25 v7.11 LMR Systems, Motorola switching and router configuration methods and practices, Motorola v7.11 Unified Event Manager (UEM), Motorola v7.11 User Configuration Manager (UCM), Motorola v7.11 Zone Configuration Manager (ZCM), Motorola MCC 7500 Admin and Dispatch configurations.
- Must be qualified to service, maintain, and install equipment according to the standards established by the equipment manufacturer.
- Must have valid driver license and capable of driving on road locations with steep, narrow, and rough terrain.
