Join our dynamic team as a Land & Lease Contracts Analyst IV and play a vital role in managing and optimizing lease and contractual records for a leading company. This hybrid role offers the chance to work in Houston, TX, or Denver, CO, supporting critical land operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and ensure the accuracy and consistency of lease and contract data across land systems using advanced technical knowledge.
- Prepare comprehensive legal documents such as full releases and Exhibit A agreements for assignments and contractual updates.
- Manage monthly lease calendars, tracking key deadlines, payments, expirations, and obligations to keep leases in good standing.
- Calculate rental payments, minimum royalties, and other financial obligations, and process related billing and payments.
- Conduct lease and unit reviews, managing shut-in wells and associated payments.
- Research public and private land records to support lease administration and resolve issues effectively.
- Collaborate with Land Operations and Land Administration teams to respond to landowner inquiries and assist in preparing agreements like pooling and communitization.
- Maintain meticulous land records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support special projects and initiatives, continuously maintaining expertise on industry trends and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Quorum Land System and/or SAP is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound understanding of land principles, lease obligations, and land records management.
- Ability to analyze data, resolve routine issues independently, and elevate complex problems appropriately.
- Capable of handling confidential information with integrity.
Nice To Have Skills
- Experience working with land systems such as Quorum or SAP.
- Knowledge of industry practices and trends through participation in professional development.
- Experience in lease negotiations or land acquisition processes.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or
- Eight (8) or more years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Other Requirements
- Hybrid work schedule (9/80), on-site Tuesday through Thursday.
- Willingness to support projects that may require occasional travel.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in resolving issues.
