Job description

Land Development Project Manager

Tampa, Florida/ Orlando, Florida/ Naples, Florida (Individual can work from the Orlando area office or anywhere within an hour of one of these locations)

A real estate investment and development company is looking to hire a civil engineer with a background in land development to serve as a project manager. The engineer will join a growing team of nationwide project managers and will be responsible for Southwest and Central Florida development projects varying in size from 1 acre to 20 acres.

In this role, the individual will provide oversight for development projects starting in the early stages of site evaluation, working closely with internal developers, to identify and mitigate risk from an environmental, transportation, surveying, easement and utilities perspective. The individual will then organize due diligence and set all parts in motion to get the project through appropriate next steps, including hiring consultants (such as for geotechnical, survey, and environmental) and setting the schedule for the project. Working closely with engineering consultants, architects, and land use attorneys the project manager will provide guidance and oversight to get the site through entitlements and permitting all the way through to construction. Once in the construction phase, the project will be handed over to an internal construction manager and this individual will assist as needed with managing schedules, consultants, and construction documents.

A strong understanding of land development and civil engineering is required to provide oversight and quality assurance to manage engineering consultants doing the work. Projects range from big box retail clients to smaller commercial sites located primarily from the Interstate-4 corridor area (Tampa-Lakeland-Orlando) to Naples and throughout Southwest and Central Florida.

The company is part of a family office and offers professional support for work-life balance and a flexible working environment. The engineer can work from the office in the Orlando area or full-time remote anywhere within an hour of Orlando, Tampa, or Naples, Florida. The team is very cohesive, open and supportive; and a collaborative and entrepreneurial working environment allows team members to truly enjoy working together. This professional will deliver a great product that will have a positive and lasting impact on future communities. Employees take pride in doing great work while also having the flexibility to prioritize personal time with family. Full benefits are offered for this role including health insurance and 401k.
