Job summary

Civil Science is seeking an experienced Land Development Team Lead / Project Manager to join our St. George, Utah office.

You will lead the design and delivery of land development projects while mentoring a team of designers and engineers, serving as a key client contact, helping win new work, and expanding our presence in Southern Utah. This role suits a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys hands-on design, project management, client relationships, and team leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Utah or ability to obtain).
  • 5+ years of experience in land development or civil site engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proven experience managing land development projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and delivery of land development projects from concept through construction.
  • Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, utilities, roadway, and site development designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Perform quality control reviews and ensure compliance with local, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain responsibility for technical accuracy and overall project performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships.
  • Support and lead business development efforts, including proposals, scope development, and fee negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat work and expanded services.
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, industry events, and community engagements.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage designers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Assign work, provide technical guidance, and support professional development.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and workload planning to meet project demands.
  • Promote quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
