Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer in Mitchellville, MD to design water and wastewater systems, roadway and site grading, and manage projects from entitlements to construction. You will handle permitting across agencies, develop permitting strategies, and contribute to client relationships and business growth.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree (ABET) and PE licensure, with preferred Maryland experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• PE licensure is required.
• Maryland local experience preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD is preferred.
• Hybrid work schedule in Mitchellville office.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to design water and wastewater distribution, surface water management, site grading, and roadway design.
• Oversee projects from entitlements to construction completion.
• Navigate multiple governmental permitting entitlements with local expertise.
• Develop sophisticated permitting strategies to meet deadlines for developments and commercial projects.
• Engage in marketing initiatives and build relationships with clients and government entities.
• Contribute to company growth by delivering high‑quality projects and client satisfaction.
