Job summary

NorthPoint Development LLC is seeking a Land Development Designer / Landscape Architect for an in-office on-site role in Kansas City, MO. You will collaborate with engineers, planners, and surveyors to design site plans and manage permitting for NorthPoint's industrial, data center, multifamily and retail projects.

The candidate will contribute to 3D visualizations, prepare submittal documents, and support the design from concept through construction while leveraging AutoCAD Civil 3D, LandFX,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, planning, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, LandFX, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and surveyors in a fast-paced team environment.
• Design site plans, master plans, and landscape details for diverse developments.
• Prepare entitlement and permitting submittal documents for municipalities and contractors.
• Contribute to 3D visualizations and graphic presentations for various project types.
• Research and prepare detailed reports informing site selection and design decisions.
• Support the project team from concept through construction.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and surveyors in a fast-paced, stimulating and inspiring team environment.
• Obtain valuable experience towards future certification, working with licensed Landscape Architects and Professional Planners, building your expertise designing for NorthPoint's industrial, data center, multifamily and retail development platforms.
• Conceptualize site plans, master plans, preliminary grading, and detailed landscape design.
• Research and create detailed reports to inform site selection.
• Contribute to 3D visualizations and graphic presentations for a variety of project types.
• Prepare entitlement and permitting submittal documents to effectively communicate your designs with municipalities and contractors and see those designs from inception through construction.
• Be at the center of a team of technically minded developers, reporting your recommendations for how best to create desirable spaces and revitalize abandoned properties to help communities grow and thrive.

Who You Are

• You are motivated by collaborating with a spirited team to discuss and solve design problems immediately.
• You enjoy using your problem-solving skills and are excited by new challenges, difficult project sites and interesting puzzles.
• You feel comfortable and confident using or learning AutoCAD Civil 3D, LandFX, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• You have a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, planning, or a related field, and are considering obtaining an applicable certification or license.
