Job summary

NorthPoint is seeking a Land Development Designer to join the SitePoint team in Kansas City. This on-site role collaborates with engineers, planners and surveyors to design site plans and landscape features for industrial, data center, multifamily and retail projects.

You’ll develop master plans, preliminary grading, 3D visuals, and submission documents, while learning from licensed Landscape Architects and Professional Planners in a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, planning, or related field.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, planners and surveyors on development projects.
• Willingness to learn and progress toward certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and surveyors in a fast-paced team environment.
• Gain experience toward certification by working with licensed Landscape Architects and Professional Planners.
• Conceptualize site plans, master plans, preliminary grading, and detailed landscape design.
• Research and create reports to inform site selection.
• Contribute to 3D visualizations and graphic presentations for various projects.
• Prepare entitlement and permitting submittal documents through construction.
• Support the team in revitalizing properties to help communities grow.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and surveyors in a fast-paced, stimulating and inspiring team environment.
• Obtain valuable experience towards future certification, working with licensed Landscape Architects and Professional Planners, building your expertise designing for NorthPoint’s industrial, data center, multifamily and retail development platforms.
• Conceptualize site plans, master plans, preliminary grading, and detailed landscape design.
• Research and create detailed reports to inform site selection.
• Contribute to 3D visualizations and graphic presentations for a variety of project types.
• Prepare entitlement and permitting submittal documents to effectively communicate your designs with municipalities and contractors and see those designs from inception through construction.
• Be at the center of a team of technically minded developers, reporting your recommendations for how best to create desirable spaces and revitalize abandoned properties to help communities grow and thrive.

Who You Are

• You feel comfortable and confident using or learning AutoCAD Civil 3D, LandFX, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, planning, or a related field, and are considering obtaining an applicable certification or license.
