Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern focused on land development for an 11-week on-site internship. You will work with experienced civil engineers on active development projects and gain hands-on experience in grading, drainage, utility design, and permitting coordination.

The role offers exposure to client meetings and cross-disciplinary collaboration across architecture, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams within a growing A/E/C firm.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Interested in land development, infrastructure, or site design.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
• Eager to learn in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary AEC environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site development and land planning projects.
• Support grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater design efforts.
• Participate in site layout and permitting coordination.
• Attend site visits and observe construction progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering.
• Gain exposure to client meetings and project coordination processes.
• Learn how civil engineering supports commercial, industrial, and housing development projects from concept through construction.
