Job summary

Cannon Corp. in Irvine is seeking a Business Unit Director of Land Development to oversee a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and institutional projects. You will lead and mentor civil engineering teams, drive business development with developers and agencies, and ensure successful project delivery across multiple offices in the Pacific region.

The role requires a CA P.E. license, 15+ years in land development civil engineering, and a proven track record in leadership, BD, and client

Qualifications

• Requires a CA P.E. license and a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience in land development.
• 10+ years supervising and delivering projects on time/budget.
• Proven business development and client-management experience.
• Strong relationships with Southern California developers and agencies.
• Active involvement in industry associations (e.g., BIA).
• Ability to lead, review performance, and mentor a team.
• Expertise in land development design and permitting processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3D, AES, WSPG, Flowmaster.
• Comfort with public speaking and client presentations.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development and secure new opportunities.
• Lead and mentor civil engineering teams across offices.
• Oversee project delivery: scope, budgets, schedules, quality.
• Manage client relationships and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate with agencies for approvals and permits.
• Ensure QA/QC across all projects.
• Represent Cannon with professionalism and integrity.
