Reporting to the Vice President of Land, this role is a hybrid of a Land Analyst and a Business Analyst, handling various Land data organization and processing tasks as EQV scales its Land team to accommodate the growing asset base. The ideal candidate brings established technical and business analysis skills, deep Land industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across the company.Key ResponsibilitiesSystems and ProcessServe as the primary point of contact for all Land Systems and spearhead the implementation of Land systems.Lead efforts in mapping and analyzing Land business processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.Own vendor relationships for Land systems, including logging software defects and enhancement requests and leading upgrade/hot-fix testing and deployments.Provide end-user support and training as required, ensuring smooth adoption and utilization of applications and solutions.Perform quality control on land data and records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the portfolioHelps build automated (AI Assisted) lease and contract intake processes and systems to load contracts and data into Land systems.Organizes Land file structure such that location of documents is intuitive and consistent across areas and acquisitions.Leverages AI to automate all possible processes and tasks.Coordinate with land team to develop tools and dashboards to streamline access to dataObligation Tracking & PaymentsShares in completion of some functions that might typically be performed by a Lease/Land Analyst, such as review of monthly obligationsSet up and manage Land payments scheduling tools and help ensure we are making timely payments.Acquisitions & Portfolio IntegrationManage intake and integration of acquisition Land data in potential future acquisitions.Assist with the standardization of legacy land data to align with EQV's data and records standardsSupport ad hoc land projects and process improvement initiatives as assignedRequired QualificationsBA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Energy Management, or other related field, or equivalent experience.3+ years of upstream oil and gas experience as a business analyst, lease analyst, land analyst, or other land administration experienceStrong knowledge of oil and gas lease terms, conveyances, assignments, and related title documentsExperience with land management software such as Quorum, PakLand, or LandVantageExceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of recordsProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new systemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsWorks under general to limited supervision (commensurate with level), and initiates change, driving improvements within the discipline.Cultivates effective relationships, shares knowledge, and provides influence over land projects and peer groups, demonstrating understanding of industry best practices.Intermediate proficiency in SQL.Preferred QualificationsExperience at a mid-size or large upstream oil and gas operatorExperience supporting acquisition integrationsMulti-basin experience, particularly in the Permian, Haynesville and other U.S. Lower 48 basinsFamiliarity with lease payment obligations and royalty termsExposure to AI-assisted development platforms (e.g., Claude Code) and modern infrastructure/cloud tooling for building or hosting internal tools is a plus.GIS experience a plusWhat You'll BringThe right candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who takes pride in clean, accurate records.
