Job summary

HeyTutor is partnering with a local school district in Lancaster to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring for Elementary School students in grades 3–5. The role requires an Associate’s degree or current college enrollment, and entails delivering curriculum with engaging instruction in a classroom setting.

The position offers consistent weekday hours, a pay range of $20–$26 per hour based on education and experience, and benefits including voluntary health coverage and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher required or currently enrolled in college.
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred.
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary School Math.
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently.
• Pass FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor).

Responsibilities

• Tutor large groups of students up to 15 without direct teacher supervision.
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment.
• Support positive student behavior and participation.
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Assist with student assessments when requested.
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Lancaster to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Elementary School students. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring Math Tutors to support students in grades 3rd-5th. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

Pay & Benefits

Schedule

• Monday–Friday availability required
• Schedule: 2:30pm-5:30pm M-F

Requirements

• Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary School Math
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)
• Spanish Bilingual is preferred not required
