Job summary

Wallingford, Town of (CT) is seeking an IT professional to assist in planning, implementing and maintaining local and wide area networks across Town offices and remote sites.

The role includes administration of LAN/WAN systems, hardware/software installation, user support, security administration, and disaster recovery planning. Candidates should have a relevant degree and several years of IT experience, with Windows Server and Linux experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus three (3) years of IT experience.
• Two (2) years’ experience administering LAN/WAN systems, with Windows Server versions and Linux environments.
• Equivalent combination of education and qualifying experience may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing and maintaining LAN/WAN networks for Town offices and remote sites.
• Assist in installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software; provide user support.
• Manage system directories, security and backups; participate in disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor network performance; coordinate service calls with vendors; assist in budgeting and bid specs.
• Train user departments on connectivity and email/web usage; stay current with IT developments.
