Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an experienced LAN Technician III to join our Information Technology team and support end point devices across the organization. You will install, configure, and maintain hardware, assist with device deployments, and ensure compliance with ITIL/PMBOK guided processes.

The role requires 4+ years in enterprise workstation support and relevant certifications; a 40-hour daytime schedule is typical.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience supporting workstations, peripherals and end point devices in an enterprise environment.
• A+ Certification or similar certification required.
• Network+ or similar certification required.
• ITIL v3 Foundations is preferred.
• An additional industry certification in desktop, mobile, network or server technology is required, multiple certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced LAN Technician III for our Information Technology team who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a LAN Technician III you will:

• Operational Support: Provide Service Operations response and support for all requests, incidents and access related efforts performed on site at any of the organization’s locations; Assist with the installation, configuration, upgrade, and overall provide day-to-day administration and support required for the AHC compute environment; Support the administration and configuration of end point devices to include laptops, tablets, desktops, peripherals, and clinical devices; Conducts site surveys, assesses and document current site equipment, configurations and user requirements; Ability to take a flexible work schedule and be on call after hours
• Implementation and Transition: Follow standard operating procedures in the implementation and transition of software and hardware deployments; Facilitate conversations across AHC employees, vendors and other support teams while implementing or upgrading devices and software; Follow change and release management processes; Work with the Project Management Office on device refresh and general device deployment activities; Participate in the creation of detailed work breakdown structures for the implementation of automated and manual provisioning configurations
• Planning and Design: Follow PMBOK and ITIL principles in the planning and design of end point device deployments; Assist with requirements data gathering and analysis as needed; Assist with the planning and design end point device workflows
• Strategy: Participate in reviewing vendor solutions to address end point devices requirements of the business and clinical departments; Provide expertise to identify and translate end point workflow into configuration requirements

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or information technology is preferred
• 4+ years of experience supporting workstations, peripherals and general end point devices in an enterprise environment
• A+ Certification or similar certification required
• Network + or similar certification required
• ITILv3 Foundations is preferred
• An additional industry certification in desktop, mobile, network or server technology is required, multiple certifications preferred
