Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Plano, Texas, seeks an experienced network engineer with deep Cisco switching and data center expertise to design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise networks across North America.

The role emphasizes ACI, DNAC, SDA, VXLAN, BGP/OSPF, QoS and automation, with responsibilities spanning provisioning, incident resolution and vendor collaboration, including Cisco.

Qualifications

• CCNP Routing & Switching or higher.
• Strong Cisco Data Center with ACI experience.
• Expert LAN switching: STP, Trunking, EtherChannel; high availability with HSRP/VRRP.
• LAN switching incl. ACI, VXLAN, SDA, DNAC, ISE, VLAN, and VTP concepts.
• Load balancing knowledge: LACP, PaGP.
• Hands-on with Nexus 9K/7K/5K/2K devices and Catalyst 9K/3K/4K series.
• Designing, deploying, and troubleshooting VSS, VDC, VPC, OTV, FabricPath, multi-tenancy.

Responsibilities

• Provide operations support for Enterprise LAN, Data Center, and Campus Network across North America.
• Install, configure and support network equipment using APIC & DNAC.
• Configure spine-leaf Cisco ACI with APIC and APIC-EM controllers.
• Resolve connectivity between applications, EPGs, and external networks.
• Diagnose routing, contracts, and endpoint learning issues.
• Maintain external connections (L3Out, firewalls, load balancers) and apply micro-segmentation.
• Add or update ACI objects (tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts).
• Automation with Cisco ACI/APIC, SDA & DNAC with ISE integration.
• Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors.
• Configure routing and switching for efficiency and security.
• Supervise site installs, maintenance, upgrades or software enhancements.
• Plan and execute APIC and switch firmware upgrades.
• Escalation point for operational issues; drive service improvements.
• Maximize network performance via monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Investigate faults; resolve incidents/changes per procedures.
• Explore and support automation with Cisco tools.
• Collaborate with customers, infrastructure teams and Cisco.
• Report network status to stakeholders.

Job description

Strong knowledge in Switching technologies - Tenant, VRFs, BDs, EPGs, VXLAN, STP, Trunking, Ether channel, HSRP, VRRP, LACP, PaGP, BGP, OSPF, MP-BGP

Switching Models Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K, 2K, VPC, FEX, VDC, Cisco VSS, VPC, Cisco Catalyst 6800, 6500, 4500, 3800, 3500 2900 with stacking.

Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM).

Extensive experience on designing and implementing Cisco ACI, SDA (Software-Defined Access), DNAC with Data Center Networking Technologies and Cloud Solutions.

Strong experience with Monitoring and Alerting Tools: Cisco APIC/ACI, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco DNAC, Cisco ISE, PagerDuty, Nagios & Thousand Eyes.

1.CCNP Certified (Routing & Switching) & Higher

2.Strong knowledge on Cisco Data Center with ACI environment (Single/Multi Pod)

3.Expert Knowledge of LAN switching technologies: STP, Trunking, Ether channel and good understanding of high availability fundamentals (HSRP and VRRP)

4.Good understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including ACI, APIC, VXLAN, fabric path, SDA, DNAC, ISE, Spanning Tree, Virtual LAN (VLAN), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) concepts.

5.Good hands-on experience on the load balancing concepts like - LACP, PaGP

6.Strong hands-on work experience with Cisco Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K, 2K devices, Cisco Catalyst 9K, 3K & 4K series.

7.Experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting VSS, VDC, VPC, OTV, Fabric path, FCoE and multi-tenancy in the datacenter.

8.Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM).

9.Good understanding of DHCP, DNS - Hands-on experience & troubleshooting knowledge on Infoblox.

10.Troubleshooting network link/device hardware/configuration issues, isolating the problem, fixing the problem

11.Install, configure, and support large-scale production and corporate network infrastructure including routers, switches, console servers and equipment.

12.Schedule and perform network maintenance, repair, and upgrade tasks as needed while limiting the impact on the production network.

13.Very strong Layer 2 & 3 Networking skills solid BGP, IPV4, IPv6, Change management.

14.Troubleshooting the routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, Static and OSPF and work with the ISPs and internal teams to resolve the issues.

15.Experience working on CoS, QoS, WRED and related quality of service parameters.

16.Working knowledge on MPLS, Metro Ethernet and Hub & Spoke concepts

8.Deep understanding of network orchestration and automation using Cisco ACI/APIC, SDA & DNAC with ISE integration.

9.Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.

10.Configuring routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.

11.Supervise and or performing site installs, maintenance, upgrades or software enhancements to support the network infrastructure needs.

12.Plan and execute APIC and switch firmware upgrades.

13.Function as a point of escalation for operational entities regarding regular or complex issues.

14.Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting

15.Investigating faults in the network

16.Resolve incidents/problems/Changes according to established procedures.

17.Work on Service improvement activities and completing it within the target dates.

18.Explore & Support automation where possible.

19.Work closely with customer, Infrastructure teams and vendors such as Cisco.

Base Salary Range : $80,000 to $110,000 Per Annum
