Job summary

• Prep and maintain tools in accordance with guidelines.
• Follow work instructions accurately.
• Perform composite layup including carbon prepreg, carbon fibers, Kevlar, fiberglass, and hand layup.
• Trim excess materials from molds and ensure clean finishes.
• Check products for wrinkles, air pockets, and voids.
• Verify conformance and inspect defects visually.
• Complete layup documents and record production data.
• Perform re-work as required.
• Maintain tool release systems and 5S practices.
• Observe safety and housekeeping standards.

DEPARTMENT: LAMINATION

REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION MANAGER

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL-TIME

Position Summary: Responsible for performing all tasks involved in the fabrication of the company’s composite parts. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prep and maintain tools in accordance with specified guidelines and procedures
• Accurately follow work instructions
• Perform Composite layup such as: Carbon Pre-Preg, Carbon Fibers, Kevlar layup, Fiberglass and Hand Layup
• Trim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knives
• Perform part build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids
• Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by checking them visually
• Understands & completes internal & customer required layup documents.
• Records information on appropriate production records, logs and other report forms
• Performs re-work as required
• Cleans and reseals tools using the appropriate release systems
• Be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times
• Continuously demonstrate 5S Application
• Adheres to the highest practicable safety and housekeeping standards.
• Repairs defective products rejected by inspection or test personnel
• Required participation in internal training as needed to perform the duties assigned to this role
