Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a TECHNICIAN in our LAMINATION department to fabricate composite parts. You will follow instructions, prepare tools, and perform carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass layups with attention to detail.

Responsibilities include mold trimming, part build-up free of defects, and recording production data. Strong English communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety are required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Person status required due to export control.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Composite experience highly preferred.
• Familiar with a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Must read, write and understand English.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prep and maintain tools according to guidelines and procedures.
• Accurately follow work instructions.
• Perform composite layup (carbon pre-preg, carbon fibers, Kevlar, fiberglass, hand layup).
• Trim excess materials from molds using hand shears or knives.
• Ensure part build-up is free of wrinkles, air pockets and voids.
• Record information on production records and logs; complete required documents.
• Perform re-work as needed and maintain clean, safe workstation.
