Job summary

Marsh is seeking a Life, Absence & Disability Consultant to support employers with absence programs including LTD, STD, Life and AD&D, focusing on design, negotiation and program delivery.

You will collaborate with carriers and vendors, deliver strategic analyses, renewal planning, benchmarking and client communications while leveraging Mercer's scale to secure competitive coverage and favorable terms.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in Life/Absence/Disability insurance and administration or consulting.
• Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple and complex tasks.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interface with multiple clients on a daily basis and develop great client relationships.
• Within 90 days from your start date, obtain all required state Health and Life insurance licenses.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Work with colleagues on client engagements, supporting the overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, benchmarking and client data interpretation.
• Leverage Mercer's size to negotiate competitive rates and coverage options from carriers and vendors.
• Assist in the development of sophisticated benefit design and renewal strategies using Mercer tools and solutions.
• Effectively communicate Mercer's position on latest industry trends to clients.
• Participate in new business opportunities and/or RFPs with sales channel partners.
• Support financial analysis and review including underwriting, data analytics, and partnership with actuaries to support funding analysis.
• Contribute as a member of the consulting team in developing overall client strategy.
