Job summary

Marsh is seeking a Life, Absence & Disability (LAD) Consultant in the Boston area. You will support employers with absence programs (LTD/STD/Life/AD&D), negotiate with carriers, and collaborate on delivery strategy, benchmarking, and renewal design.

The role emphasizes analytics, client service, and cross-functional teamwork within Mercer's LAD practice network. You will leverage Marsh's global leadership in benefits, participate in diverse client engagements, and work in a hybrid model with

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in Life/Absence/Disability insurance and administration or consulting.
• Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interface with multiple clients.
• Within 90 days from start date, obtain state Health and Life insurance licenses.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Support absence programs including LTD, STD, Life and AD&D and leave solutions.
• Negotiate with carriers and vendors for plan coverage and services.
• Collaborate on client engagements, delivery, strategy, renewal, benchmarking and studies.
• Leverage Mercer reputation to negotiate competitive rates and options.
• Interpret and present benchmark data to clients and ensure changes reflect strategy.
• Contribute to development of client strategy as a consulting team member.
• Assist in new business opportunities and/or RFPs with sales partners.
• Support financial analysis and data analytics with actuaries for funding.
