Qualifikationen

• Completion of a healthcare-related program or equivalent experience.
• Two years' experience in a similar role.
• IBCLC certification or will be in 6 months.
• CPR competency required and renewed every two years.
• Knowledge of lactation physiology and breastfeeding techniques.
• Strong communication with mothers and families.
• Knowledge of teaching and learning principles.

Aufgaben

• Counsel patients in inpatient and outpatient settings on breastfeeding issues.
• Perform assessments in person or by phone and provide guidance on latch, milk supply, weight gain, prematurity.
• Refer to interdisciplinary team members as needed.
• Assist in development and delivery of lactation education to nursing and medical staff.
