Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced RN Lactation Consultant to provide specialized breastfeeding care. You will educate mothers on latch techniques, monitor progress, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with NICU staff.

Required is an Associate's Degree in Nursing, an active RN license, and BLS certification. CLC certification is required, IBCLC preferred, with 1–2 years in acute care lactation support. This is an onsite per diem role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• RN with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and an active state license.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) certification required; IBCLC preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical acute care hospital nursing experience.
• Experience in lactation support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Educate mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding and proper latch, positioning, and feeding techniques.
• Provide guidance on pumping, storage, and handling of breast milk.
• Assess mothers and infants to identify lactation problems and develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with NICU and other healthcare professionals to support feeding strategies for preterm or medically fragile infants.
• Educate patients and hospital staff on breastfeeding and lactation management.
