Job summary

The Ohio State University Hospitals is seeking a Lactation Consultant to join the University Hospitals division. The role collaborates with the patient care team to deliver breast feeding education and support to patients and families, ensuring comprehensive planning, direction, and evaluation of lactation education.

The position emphasizes community outreach, ongoing education, and coordination with the Women and Infant Nursing team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field desired.
• Current Ohio license.
• Certification as a Lactation Consultant preferred.
• Previous nursing experience in relevant care setting preferred.
• Prior patient education and women and infant nursing desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the patient care team to provide breast feeding knowledge and skills.
• Plans, directs, and evaluates breast feeding education for patients and families.
• Assesses, plans, manages, coordinates, directs and evaluates breast feeding education.
• Ongoing community education and agency collaboration is essential.
