Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Lactation Consultant to lead breast feeding education across the Department of Women and Infant Nursing and the Medical Center. The role collaborates with the patient care team to plan, implement, and evaluate education for patients and families, located at University Hospitals.

Requirements include RN licensure in Ohio, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field, and lactation certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Current Ohio license.
• Certification as a Lactation Consultant preferred.
• Previous nursing experience in relevant care setting preferred.
• Prior patient education and women and infant nursing desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate breast feeding education for the Department of Women and Infant Nursing and the Medical Center.
• Assess, plan, manage, coordinate, direct, and evaluate breast feeding education provided to patients and family by the patient care team.
• Collaborate with the patient care team and other health care providers; prioritize education needs.
• Engage in ongoing community education and agency collaboration.
