Job summary

Bronson Healthcare in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Lactation Consultant to support breastfeeding families in the Breastfeeding Center. The PRN/part-time role focuses on education, care planning, and follow-up to ensure successful breastfeeding and postpartum support.

Under supervision, you will assess nursing mothers, refer to providers as needed, and document in EPIC. This position promotes Baby-Friendly initiatives and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Preferably 2 years clinical experience.
• BLS Certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Experience working with new mothers and newborns preferred.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Preferred IBCLC, or required designation within two years of hire.
• Required CLC or CLS.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and support to breastfeeding families.
• Assess medical conditions of nursing mothers and refer to providers as needed.
• Evaluate newborn growth and breastfeeding outcomes.
• Provide follow-up to breastfeeding patients during post-hospital care (phone/outpatient).
• Document data in EPIC and maintain teaching processes.
