Kansas Health System is seeking a Lactation Consultant to provide family-centered lactation care. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating lactation plans for breastfeeding dyads and pumping parents, working collaboratively with the care team.

Responsibilities include serving as a lactation resource across units, educating patients, and supporting prenatal and inpatient teaching programs. Part-time, evenings and days PRN.

Qualifikationen

• High School Graduate.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (or related field) is required.
• 1+ year experience with inpatient lactation programs or nursing with breastfeeding knowledge.
• IBLCE certification or eligibility within 1 year of hire (IBLCE, CLE, CBC, CLS, or Peer Counselor).
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Aufgaben

• Serves as a clinical resource to units within the hospital on lactation issues.
• Collaborates with staff to resolve inpatient breastfeeding problems.
• Develops and provides breastfeeding information, education, and support to patients.
• Participates in staff orientation, education, and clinical development around breastfeeding.
• Assists with teaching prenatal classes and provides telephone support to questions regarding breastfeeding.
