Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a part-time RN Lactation Consultant for evening shifts (3:00pm–11:00pm, 24 hours per week) at Birthplace. The role requires active RN licensure and Lactation Certification to support new families with breastfeeding and postnatal care.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, education, medication administration, and collaboration with obstetric and neonatal teams to ensure safe, high-quality care in a Level 2 maternity setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Indiana.
• Lactation Certification required.
• Experience in obstetric maternity care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered lactation counseling and education.
• Coordinate care with obstetric, NICU, and nursing teams.
• Administer medications and monitor patient status per protocol.
• Document assessments and care plans in medical records.
• Engage families with post-discharge breastfeeding guidance.
• Adhere to infection control and safety standards.
