Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant to assess, intervene, and educate families on breastfeeding across the network. You will document all teaching and interventions and support nursing staff education regarding breastfeeding.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing with at least two years of OB nursing experience, excellent communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Suite. IBCLC certification within 3 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Two years OB nurse experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assesses breastfeeding adequacy and provides guidance.
• Communicates breastfeeding skills to families clearly.
• Makes follow-up calls within one week of discharge.
• Documents teaching and interventions.
• Collaborates with nursing staff and physicians.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards.
