Emerson College's Athletics Department is seeking an Assistant Coach to support the head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting training and matches while developing players' skills and tactical understanding.

The role includes monitoring practice sessions, delivering coaching guidance, upholding safety standards, coordinating recruitment activities, and representing the college to media and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 0–2 years of coaching experience at the post‑secondary level
• Validity of coaching license or driver’s license may be required
• Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and player development

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting training and match competition
• Assist in monitoring and coordinating training sessions
• Ensure safety guidelines and standards are maintained
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance and support to other assistant coaches
• Aid in coordination and administration of the program
• Represent Emerson College and Athletics to media, students, parents and the public
• Assist with coaching strategies to develop players’ technical ability and team tactics
• Analyze team and player performance and provide leadership for improvement
• Mentor student‑athletes to support athletic, academic, emotional and social growth
• Monitor progress of prospective players during the application process
• Assist with on‑campus visits and recruitment activities
• Support recruitment and retention of diverse prospective student athletes
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
