Job summary

TEKsystems seeks an Entry-Level Cable Technician for a permanent, on-site role based in Kapolei, HI. You will install and configure internet, TV, and telephone cable systems across Hawaii's expanding network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has basic telecom knowledge, works comfortably outdoors, and can lift 50–80 lbs while adhering to safety standards. TEKsystems offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of telecommunications products and services, including fiber optic and/or copper facilities.
  • Familiarity with cable installation tools and equipment such as fiber optic splicers, cleavers, strippers, trenching equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure internet, television, and telephone cable systems.
  • Place aerial and underground cable to customer locations.
  • Install pedestals, handholes, vaults, and related infrastructure.
  • Label and mark telecommunications facilities for identification and tracking.
  • Assist with fiber optic splicing, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Perform general construction labor, including trenching, plowing, and boring operations.
  • Test and troubleshoot signals to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Restore work sites and landscaping following project completion.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles.
  • Complete required documentation and work records.
  • Follow all safety standards, industry regulations, and company procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and educate customers on installed services and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $47840.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.

Excellent salary and benefits package to include paid time off, paid holidays, comprehensive health plan including medical, dental, vision, life, short‑term disability insurance, and 401(k) plan with employer match. Opportunity to obtain a DoW Security Clearance.
